Description

Small leather-bound book. Two attached leather straps loop around the book to form a carrying strap. Incised gilt-lettering on the spine reads "Common Prayer/Hymn A&M/Cambridge."

Narrative

This very small leather-bound book with incorporated leather carrying strap was intended for a child. It is titled "Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Holy Communion According to the Use of the Church of England Together with the Psalter or Psalms of David" and was published by the Cambridge University Press, London. It is not dated. Based its design and the physical nature of the leather and paper, it is believed to date circa 1900.
