Description
A black and white photograph of Catherine Henrietta Maud Macdonald, Elizabeth Mary Catherine Macdonald and Jean Lilias Patricia Macdonald, all daughters of Joan Olive Bryden (Mrs. Alastair Douglas Macdonald). The girls seem to be approximately 9-12 years old. They are sitting in a horse carriage at the front door of Mt. Adelaide, the residence of Mary Jean Dunsmuir (Mrs. Henry Croft), the verso inscribed "1925 at Aunt Mary Croft". Photographer unknown.
Narrative
This rare photograph depicts the three Macdonald sisters at the doorway to Mt. Adelaide, the home of their mother's mother's sister, Mary Jean Dunsmuir (Mrs. Henry Croft). The house was situated at West Bay in Esquimalt, B.C. 
History of Use
This photograph was taken in 1925 and used at Duntulm, the North Saanich, B.C. farm used by Joan Olive Bryden and her husband Alastair Douglas Macdonald. It was then inherited by their daughter, Elizabeth Mary Katherine Macdonald until it was inherited by her son who donated it to Craigdarroch Castle in 2009.
