Description

A waterolour painting on paper depicting a woman standing at the base of a stone staircase that is part of a stone wall and building with a wooden door at the top, her costume a long-sleeved white coloured blouse with puffy sleeves, long flowing brown skirt and brown vest, a kerchief of orange and green design tied to the back of her head, her hair, the woman looking at the artist with her body slightly turned to her left, the artist's signature "F Bartolini, Roma" at bottom right corner in precise, even printing in black-coloured ink.

Unknown. Purchased at Kilshaw's Auctioneers, Victoria, B.C. in 2000.
