Biography

Born in Bode, England, she travelled with husband, Richard Maynard, to Vancovuer Island via Ontario. Hannah Maynard operated one of the first photographic studios in Victoria and travelled up and down the Coast, documenting early British Columbia. She experimented with innovated photographic techniques, making her images notable both for their historical value as well as their artistry.
