Berkeley Holme-Sumner

Biography
Holme-Sumner, Berkeley (1872-1943). Married to Margaret Joanna Harvey, a granddaughter of Joan Dunsmuir of Craigdarroch, Commander Berkeley Holme-Sumner, CBE OBE served as a divisional naval transport officer in the Royal Naval Transport Service during The Great War and was based in Rouen, France.

He was the second son of Arthur Holme-Sumner, Esq., owner of Berkeley Castle, Berkeley, Gloustershire, United Kingdom.

Holme-Sumner was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 10 November, 1893.

Holme-Sumner was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 10 May, 1906.

Holme Sumner was promoted to the rank of Commander on 6 October, 1912.

In recognition of his wartime service, Holme-Sumner was promoted to the rank of Captain dated 11 November, 1918.
